Hi! I'm Lira.

After eight years working in finance in NYC, I turned to art to heal from burnout and anxiety, reconnecting with a creative spark I’d set aside for years. That process changed how I approach art and storytelling. Today, I bring that same belief in the restorative power of art to my work, whether I’m creating picture books or facilitating creative health workshops.

I work primarily in mixed media, blending traditional analogue textures with digital tools to create work that feels layered, tactile, and expressive. My illustration practice is constantly fueled by curiosity, drawing inspiration from history, traditional Korean art & culture, travel, and the simple beauty of everyday life.

I grew up in Seoul and am now based in Brooklyn, where I live with my husband and an ever-growing collection of art supplies and books.

Workshops

Alongside my illustration practice, I run creative health workshops for adults, bridging art, connection, and wellbeing. I also write a newsletter sharing thoughts on creative health, culture, and living more curiously.
